Is this in a home environment or a work environment?

Hello Brian,

This is a work environment but we do not have a policy which will disable
this as there are other users in the same office who have this option
enabled for them.

What do you see on the Other tab?

I can see all other tabs other than Auto Archive. I can see Navigation Pane
options, Advanced options and reading pane.

Are you absolutely sure there's no policy? I personally can't think of any
way to remove the AutoArchive functionality except through external control.
Perhaps one of the other people reading this group knows how it might be done,
but, to my regret, I do not.

It is removed by some of the archiving add-ins. Have you used an add-in to
manage your outlook data?

It can also depend on the value of a registry entry (per machine)
here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\

(your \Office\XX.X\Outlook value may be different than mine - use
the largest value folder)

and look for the DisablePst value in the right hand pane.

If you are sure it is not a problem in your work environment, you can
turn it on and off per machine as follows:

If DisablePst is missing (usually) or set to zero, you will see the
option.

If DisablePst is set to 1, you will not see the option.

To create DisablePst and then set it, create a new REG_DWORD

Value Name: DisablePst
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

You will have to restart Outlook to see the effect.

You may take a look at machines where it works and where it doesn't
work to see the difference.

See how that works for you.
