ARGHH XP Network Internet Sharing

Ok wundering if any of u nice people can help me

I have 3 machine (2 desk, 1 lap) all runing XP pro, ive got them all talking
by manual setup of the ip address, they talk we share files this is good.

So whats my problem? I cant get the internet sharing going on. The host
machine has got a broad band modem connected via ethernet, another network
card is being used for the LAN. Ive tried using ICS, on one client machine
it sees the shared connection but it is classed as disconnected.

Ive tried using the WIZARD it didnt work, ive read about bridging
connections but anything ive read has warned not to connect you internet
connection with ur LAN.

So any one help PLEASEEEEEEE

Do have 2 network cards in the machine connected to the internet? One
to recieve the signal / one to send it.

If not, then you need a router - something that will assign ip address.

yes the host machine has 2 network cards 1 for the DSL and one for the LAN.
the dsl can also connect via usb is there any way this connection can be
used?

I see I didn't read the post too closely. Well, what I do is to get
mine working is open network connections; right click on the card that
is connected to the dsl > tcp/ip properties > advanced > click the ics
box > choose the card that connects to the dsl.

Also workstations need to be set to get the ip from the dhcp which will
be the one with two cards.
