Internet Connection Sharing

So, here's the scenario:

At my desk, I've a workstation which is connected to internet via the
company's firewall and all the necessary configurations.
Recently, I got a laptop too from my company so that I can work
remotely. Now in my cubicle, I only have one LAN Slot for network
access.

So, if I want to use the laptop, I'd have to take out the LAN cable
from the workstation and plug it in the laptop.

Is there a way to share the same internet connection between these two
machines ?

Workstation runs Win 2000 professional. I've very limited rights on my
workstation.
Laptop has Win XP Pro installed. I've admin rights on my laptop.

Company's IT department won't help me much. I wanna use both the
computer as workstation has better configuration (memory etc.). I was
thinking, I can run big programs on my workstation and run email
programs, ms office etc. on my laptop.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need admin rights on the desktop (or an admin that will work with
you), and a second NIC. If you can get that far, post again. If not, buy a
cheap hub/switch ($35 or less) and 2 extra cables.

Thanks Kurt !
I guess I'll have to buy a hub anyway.

Switch not hub (although a hub will work). Just plug the switch into the Lan port in the wall and your two computers into the switch. If your IT guys got you the labtop, they should have a switch to give you.
