HI

i have 2 computers .. both are connected using a crossover cable...both have
modems... using winxp pro.. i have shared all the drives on one pc .... i
connect to internet using one pc and have the have its connection shared to
be used by the other pc..... i have few questions regarding this
scenario........ firstly when i start zone alarm i cant share fiels and
fodlers and interent.... due to zonealarm..... so i ahve to disable the
firewall to be able to share files and internet.... but i dont like this i
want to use firewall and still be able to share the net....and fiels and
folder..............if this is possible. then should i need to have firewall
on installed on both the pc's .... my second question is that since i have
shared all the drives and cd rom on other pc is there anything wrong with
this if i am online........ i may make the sharing pc a client or a server
( in a way it accesses the net server= the pc connection directly to the
internet ,,,, client= the pc using the shared connection of other pc ) .

Open Zone Alarm and put your two computers in the trusted
zone. [Firewall/zones page]

Hi, You need to tell Zone alarm what p.c.'s are to be
allowed to access your p.c. or the internet. You need to
open Zonealrm and go to the 'firewall' tab and then to
the 'zones' tab. Then you need to 'add' the ip addresses
of your individual machines. So you need to get the ip
address of the other machines. You will find these in
the 'networking' icon in control panel. Opne 'networking'
and then right-click on the local area network connection
and choose 'status' and then choose 'support'. It will
show the IP address of that local area connection. Bye.

Zone Alarm PRO allows NAT - eg, sharing between computers and Internet etc.
Zone Alarm FREE edition doesn't. That is why.
