zone alarm and SP2

After installing SP2, I tried to remove zone alarm.
Looks like everything uninstalled except the true vector.
I tried the ZA and the windows uninstaller programs.
I had to go into the msconfig.exe menu to disable the
true vector-it was causing problems at restart.
I even tried downloading and then reinstalling a fresh
copy of ZA. When I run the installer, it causes a
problem and my system restarts on it's own.
And I tried using restore, but I guess XP wiped out
previous restore points due to the installation of
Service Pack 2 (sp2).
Anyone have this problem or know of a solution?
Thanks
RObin

1.. Click Start, and then click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
2.. In the System Configuration Utility, click the Services tab.
3.. Click to clear the True Vector Basic Login and the True Vector Internet
Monitoring check boxes.
4.. Click the Startup tab, click to clear the check box next to any ZoneAlarm
startup item, and then close the System Configuration Utility.
I hope this helps...

Mary,
I have ZA disabled and true vector disabled. But I can
not uninstall the program. I can't even re-install it.
Whenever I go windows uninstaller, the process starts,
but then it reboots my system.
Any other thoughts?

Thanks
Robin

ZA installs a hidden device driver which must be removed before you
can unload the program and completely uninstall.

Go to Device Manager and click on "View". Click on "Show hidden
devices". Click the small plus sign + next to "Non-Plug and Play
Drivers". Scroll on down to the bottom of the list and you should
see a hidden device driver called "vsdatant". Highlight this driver
and right click on it. Select uninstall.

Reboot your system. You should now be able to uninstall ZA or at
least re-install it. If you still can't, then you have some corrupted
ZA registry entries. About the only way you can get rid of them is to
go through the registry manually and remove all references to ZA.

Use a registry search program for best results. "Regseeker" is free
and works well. Do a Google search for it.
