Zip Files - No Download

Hi,

I have been struggling with this problem for quite some time..... sorry for
the repost.

When I visit the discussion board on a legitimate website on which files can
be uploaded/downloaded, I cannot download files by clicking on their link.
(If I go to the news reader version of the site, I can download the files.)

When I click on the link while in IE 6, a blank page comes up with the small
rectangle / red X in the upper left hand corner. No other messages are
presented.

I have experimented with a number of security and Active X settings, with no
luck.

I am running Windows XP SP 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
