zip avi file

I have a home movie that is a little over 15 mb. I would like to email this
to family members but it is too big to email.

I tried to zip it with winzip but it only took it down to 15 mb.

Is there a different way to compress this file?

AVI's are already compressed ..I'm afraid you won't get it much smaller
(look into chopping it into pieces or burn to a CD and mail it)

an avi file is already compressed, that is why winzip does not reduce it any
further, as a suggestion split it using winzip and mail the parts seperately

An avi file? It's already compressed, and won't get smaller by further
compression.

Yes, there are lots of ways, but there is little difference between the size
of the results.

You would have to use your movie-editing software to reduce the size via
changing display resolution, frame-rate etc.
