Hello

I have problem with " zcfgsvc.exe" wich pops up att every cold start of my
computer. Can I remove this program safely or reinstall something? I's
getting quite annoying. I have a Thosiba M30 and XP pro.

Thankyou
/Peter

Peter,

This is an Intel NIC config tool. You shouldn't delete it. Instead,
* Select Start > Run > type msconfig, click OK
* Select the 'Startup' tab, uncheck the Intel reference
* Look in 'Services' for the Intel Config service reference & change to
'Disable', click OK.

Have you Googled that filename - quite often, many other people have
asked the same and answers are already on the 'net.

Hi
Thanks

The first one I found, but at the Services tag there are two Intel
references. "RegSrvc" and "Spectrum24 Event Monitor".
Diable both of them or?

Peter,

If you don't use 'Wireless' at all you can disable them both. I'm not overly
familiar with wireless setups but considering you have a top of the line
laptop & didn't add another network cards you shouldn't have any problems.
If you do use 'Wireless', try disabling them and see if any network problems
occur.

If you double-click the service, select the 'Dependencies' tab, look for any
dependencies for that service from the lower box heading 'The following
system components depend on this service'. If it says 'No Dependencies' then
you shouldn't have any problems. Don't worry so much about the upper heading
'This service depends on the following system components'.
