ZA pro 4.5

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but thought it could not hurt.

I'm having trouble getting windows update to work with zone alarm pro 4.5. I went to the zone alarm web site with out finding any help. If anybody has any ideas please pass them along or point me in the right direction. The error message windows posts just comes up as windows update was blocked. If I shut down zone alarm then I can run windows update without trouble.

Please Help.

Check your setting under Privacy also setting under program control and
be sure that Windows Update has web access.

I have givin windows update access to the web under program control and it seems to be ok sending out the information it is the recieving information that does not seem to work. I am not at my home computer right now so I am not sure about the privacy setting but will check ASAP. I know that zone alarm has a place to put rules that will give access exeptions. I read at the zone alarm web site that you can put in a ip range to allow for windows to update but what is the ip range that windows update uses. Does the ip ranges change often

Actually, from what I've been reading on the tech sites, the new ZA has
more than one issue with XP. You may want to try a different firewall.
Otherwise, you'll need to contact ZA tech support, who are probably
already aware of the Known Issues.
