I have version 1.3.0.15 which I think was the last freeware version. I can
mail it to you or upload it somewhere if you like? It's zipped to just over
0.5mb.

"Good" depends on what you want it to do. At this point, I won't use
a newsreader without yenc decoding built in. There's an ever-growing
list of yenc-compatible programs of all types at yenc.org, but the way
yproxy works is unique.
