"Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your
virtual memory paging file. During this process memory requested for some
applications may be denied."

This is the message that I receive even after installing additional RAM on a
Dell XPS R450MHz Pentiumm II now with 384MB of RAM. I've changed various
settings according to the Help on microsoft.com, but to no avail.

I will appreciate any ideas to resolve this issue. Thanks!

Hi Robert,
Virtual memory and physical memory are 2 different things...sort of. My
first question is, how is your hard drive space? If you have plenty of drive
space then I've included a link that will help you adjust the page file. It
discusses Office 2003 but gives the instructions to increase the page file
size at the bottom of the page.

Your pagefile is too small. Let the system manage it. You system will run
much better with 512MB Ram, but the amount of physical memory has no bearing
on the amount of virtual memory.

Right-click "My Computer", "Properties", "Advanced" tab. Under Performance section, click the
"Settings" button, "Advanced" tab, under the Virtual memory section, click the "Change" button,
and check the option, "System managed size". Click the "Set" button, click "OK", "Apply", and
"OK" your way out.
