Has anyone gotten this message when using IE 6???? I just got a new computer
with XP and IE 6 was already installed. Help!!!!!!!!

Your Current Software Will Limit Your Ability to Use Hotmail

You are using a web browser that Hotmail does not support. If you continue
to use your current browser software we cannot guarantee that Hotmail will
work correctly for you.

We recommend that you upgrade your web browsing software and invite you to
download Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

I found this suggested cure using Google:

If' you're using Norton Internet Security and filtering out Browser Agent
information, uncheck this feature.

Would you like to download Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (English) in its
entirety?

Internet Explorer Full Download Instructions:

1. Download the IE 6 SP1 setup file using this link: ie6setup.exe

2. Place the downloaded setup file here: C:\Downloads (Create this folder if
necessary.)

3. Click Start | Run and type the command below into the Open field (see
screenshot below), and then click OK. NOTE: Use the EXACT syntax shown
below, including the quotation marks. Copying the text below and pasting it
into the Open field is recommended.

"C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"

I figured it out. Go into Norton Internet Security and click privacy control
then configure. Next click on the advanced tab and make sure the checkmark
for information about your browser has PERMIT checked.

Sorry, but I don't use NIS so I couldn't help you any further than simply
quoting the solution that I found using Google.

From reading your last message, it doesn't sound like you changed the same
setting, but if you found a solution, that's all that really matters.

Thanks for the feedback.
