What is your product key? (No, don't publish it here. Just look at
it.) Does it match one of the following keys mentioned in the KB
article below?

Error Message: The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326904

Otherwise, the following KB article might apply:

Troubleshooting Invalid CD Key Error Message During Windows XP Setup

You did recheck that you ARE entering the *correct* characters in the
product key, right? Like entering a five ("5") instead of an ess ("S"),
a zero ("0") instead of an oh ("O"), and so on.

You should not get this message unless you are reinstalling Windows,
or are attempting to upgrade a pirated copy of XP (the socalled
"corporate version") with Service Pack 1.

If this is not your situation then you may have some sort of virus or
spyware on your machine.

Make certain that your antivirus software is completely up to date
with the virus definition files not more than a week old and do a
complete virus scan of your computer.

If you need a good antivirus program then try the free version of AVG6
from http:www.grisoft.com or you can do a free online virus scan at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Also check for any advertising spyware on your machine by downloading,
installing, updating and running AdAware (free) from
http://www.lavasoft.de

You can also do a free automatic scan for most spyware at
http://www.aumha.org/a/noads.htm

Good luck

you might find there is a phone number there for you to
call, when you use the cd key more than 3 times you will
get this error and microsoft will stop the key being
activated , a phone call will give you a new number to
put in and then the cd key will be good for another 3
times
