I am getting a message now when i log onto my windows xp computer that my cd key is no longer valid what can i do to repai this? It gives me the option to reregister or put my cd key in. When i do it says invalid. and help is greatly appreciated.
You should not get this message unless you are reinstalling Windows,
or are attempting to upgrade a pirated copy of XP (the socalled
"corporate version") with Service Pack 1.
If this is not your situation then you may have some sort of virus or
spyware on your machine.
Make certain that your antivirus software is completely up to date
with the virus definition files not more than a week old and do a
complete virus scan of your computer.
If you need a good antivirus program then try the free version of AVG6
from http:
www.grisoft.com or you can do a free online virus scan at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
Also check for any advertising spyware on your machine by downloading,
installing, updating and running AdAware (free) from
http://www.lavasoft.de
You can also do a free automatic scan for most spyware at
http://www.aumha.org/a/noads.htm
Good luck
