2 desktops:blush:ne linksys wireless g with speed boost router, both connect to
cable modem fine.

A. XP Media-Brand New PC-over wireless connection, I can see both A&B and
transfer files from in both directions while at A, and all shared folders of
B show up in explorers "My Network Places" all is ok here.

B. XPPro-Brand new Clean XPPro install-direct cat5 to router, there is
nothing showing up in "My Network Places", and when I try to view workgroup
computers I get the following:"MSHOME is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this
server to ding out if you have access permissions. The network path was not
found."

I have read several threads here, and have followed lots of the advice and
have gotten nowhere on this.

I hope I am missing something silly. I could not find a thread on this exact
issue, and I apologize in advance if it is there somewhere.

Fish,

Your problem is not unknown, but it's not easy to diagnose. One of the most
likely causes would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other
security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be
the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

If you need help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
