Yet Another Upgrading to Vista Question

I am running Windows XP Pro and I know you can't upgrade from XP Pro to Home
Premium because of functionality issues. The question is can I buy the
upgrade Vista Home Premium and do a clean install on the XP Pro machine?

Yes you can. You'll still need XP installed to start the installation from.
Once it is started your only option will be to do a custom install, rather
than the in-place upgrade that would be available if you were going from XP
Pro to Vista Business.

Why isn't he supposed to? There is nothing wrong with doing that at all.
He said he knew he needed to do a clean (custom) install. That is the only
limitation of "downgrading." But there is absolutely nothing wrong in doing
it.
