Yamaha CRW8824E CD Writer - not working

Upgraded to XP Professional & Media Player 9. As result
cannot burn CD's. Device Manager says everything OK &
that best-fit XP driver installed. Can't find Yahama
driver/firmware for XP anywhere.
Have tried slowing down burn speed but no good.
Conversion of files works OK but when tries to burn CD,
errors out. Any ideas please?

allthough it appears from this you may be unlucky.
I had a prob with a Yamaha drive, cured by buying new - theyre no longer
expensive.

Use something like INCD or DirectCD.

XP's built-in burning sux. As it doesnt support
packet-writing, or formatting of CD's.
