Yahoo! and Swen

Brian

Hi!

Does anyone know if Yahoo! mail is going to stop (or has power to) the Swen
virus in their e-mails? While it has slowed down some, my box still fills up
after an hour or so.

Thanks,
Brian

Don't know if they are going to fix the mess. hotmail has better
features to address this, I hear.

Send the yahoos at Yahoo a snail mail complaint letter.

Also, you can slow Swen down by blocking some of it's favorite
domains. That is the only feature of Yahoo mail that helps.

I've e-mailed them about my problem with Swen but I haven't had a
response as yet (probably won't have one either).

Either way, I've noticed that they seem to have slowed down to a more
manageable level since last week.

Oh well, that will be the last time that I send my e-mail address over
usenet unmunged...

Cheers

You have POP3-access to your mailbox right? If you do then you can use
for example MMM3 to scan the mailbox directly and have it delete the
swen-crap. I have designed a filter that detects the swen-infected
emails, more info at http://nakawe.sf.net//MMM3

It has slowed, but still bad for me..instead of every few minutes, I get
them after 20-30 minutes of cleaning it up.
