Used computer?

Use the provided Windows XP installation media/restoration method and
restore it to pristine (as originally purchased) state before doing anything
else. You have no way of knowing what it was used for before it got to you,
no way of knowing what it was infected with and know way of knowing what was
maliciously left on it. Start from scracth and you gain all of that and a
more stable system.
