XPE SP2 installation error

Shiju

Hi,
I downloaded the XPE sp2 from the Microsoft secure site . For me
database update engine and tools update succeeded without any problem.
But on Database update I am getting the error "Cannot import SLD. The
CMI encountered an unexpected error from win32 subsystem " and did not
import XPESP2.sld.
Could someone help me to resolve the problem.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiju

Shiju,

A few quick questions:
- Did you have SP1 installed before go and install SP2?
- Any AV or similar software running?
- Do you have the latest WSH installed? (v 5.6)

Hi KM,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I thought I do some more experiments
before I reply. But still I am getting errors. Now I am getting an error
"Cannot delete repository files in the target folder. Make sure you have
write access to the files."
I have XPE SP1 installed before I tried to install XPE SP2. No other AV
software is being run during the SP2 installation. And I have latest WSH
installed(5.6). My host system is windows XP service pack 1.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Shiju,

How about accessing repositories share on your computer trough network path?
This is same way how XPe DB does it so if you can configure net share access right to allow you write and deletes trough this
connection it will work then.

So basically what you need to do is to set enough privileges for network access to data.

I don't know if this will help, but I had some trouble installing SP2
as well. In my situation I had nothing installed, so I installed XPe
SP1 and then tried to install SP2 from disk 3. I could update the
tools and the DB engine, but following the directions I could not get
the database installed. It turns out that I needed to reboot to get
everything working correctly before installing the database. I think
it was all the starting/stopping of services that caused my problems.

I think after I ran into trouble I uninstalled everything and started
from scratch too, I wish I had documented my experiance better but it
sounds like we had similar issues.

Hi,
I installed the XPE sp1 on a fresh XP sp1 pro installation and then
installed XPE sp2. It got installed without any problem.
Thanks for all your responses.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiju
