XPE hangs at pre-gui progress bar before FBA

I'm running XPE with the Explorer shell. I ran it successfully on a certain
ETX board, then the board was replaced by a newer revision. The only
difference is a SATA controller was added, but I'm still booting from IDE CF
card and/or a USB key. XP Pro runs on the new board via PXE install, but I
can't get FBA to run on XPE for the life of me.

SYMPTOMS:
XPE boots to black screen with white ASCII block dotted line. Block line
fills in from left to right and... it stops. Nothing further to report.

Can anybody hazard a guess as to what my problem is? I believe I've tried
including the RAID drivers from the board manufacturer and disabling SATA
from the BIOS with no effect, but it's possible I neglected to ensure the
drivers were in the build.

Thanks in advance,
Matias

Solved.

Enabled APIC and Native IDE in the BIOS. Not sure which one, if not both,
fixed the problem.

Boo-urns.
