Can a copy od win xp prof be made for a backup disk or
does micrsoft have some sort of block in it? I have
attempted to copy only to stop recording at 25% thanks

You should be able to copy it with proper burning software and a good CD-RW drive. Sometimes better to slow down the burning speed on this type of copy since just one bit missing can cause problems with the copy, but you may not find that out until in the middle of a reinstall.
