XP Won't Start Up

My PC will not get past the Windows XP screen when trying
to boot up. The blue status bar keeps moving but it will
never boot. I have tried the "Start Normally" and "Last
Known Good Configuration" options when I power down and up
again. What else can I try?

Have you tried going into Safe Mode?

.
Yes, all it does is give me a screen of file names from
the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS file location and then it
locks up again.

Thanks, Dave

my pc is doing the exact same thing. last file shown
while booting in safe mode before locking up is agp440.sys

I ran chkdsk /r and chkdsk and found 0 errors. This all
started after I installed the most recent updates for XP
as well as installing the newest version of quicktime.

I can't do anything with that box now but restart it by
reset button.

email me what you find out please.

thanks,
Roger
