XP wont shut off.

Since the New Year, my XP won't shut down when I hit the Shutdown button.
Using Ctrl-Alt-Del to try and get a look at what's going on is useless as
well. It doesn't work after I've hit the Shutdown button.

Any hints??

I've usually found this behavoir is caused by some problematic program
you have auto starting at windows boot. Use MSCONFIG to disable progs
that are auto starting and see if the bad shutdown behavoir still
exists.
