Xp wont go back in explorer or online

Hello. Im new here, hopefully someone can help///

Just reformated my drive for I just built a new rig. Just got done
updating to sp2 and all patches and something strange is going on and I
have no idea why. In Explorer, just browsing on the computer, say
folders or whatnot, I cant use the back button to go back. It clicks,
screen flashes for a second, yet doesnt reverse. Same thing happening
in Firefox, or IE. Its driving me crazy... Any ideas in why this is
happening? And how to fix it. As mentioned, its a brand new
install...So there is no viruses or spyware present whatsoever. I look
forword to any help I can get on this.....

Hello, Try using Alt + Tab to go to a previous page and see if that works. I
am assuming the back buttons are present and not greyed out. There should be
a drop down menu next to the back button. Does it contain anything when you
are browsing web for example?

No the buttons were all there.....

FYI I just figured it out...... I was typing a email and the keyboard
went nuts. Things popping up, to not working. I figured at this point
that the xp install went bad..so I did f8 to try some stuff in safe
mode...yet once there keyboard would not respond to move cursor... So i
took out usb plug and put it into a adapter... It then worked....So then
I thought, the keyboard perhaps... Long sotry shortm booted back up,
with adapter for keyboard not usb and this problem i had for 2 days now
is completely gone......

I have lots of things on usb prts and all is fine, so I have no
idea..all i know is that all is working like a charm now....

Thanks for your input on this......i was just ready to come here and
post it was fixed, as i got the reply in email box
