XP wont boot, due to install of 2k on seperate HD

My version of XP was completely running and working then I
formatted and installed 2k on another hard drive. I know
that the boot files used to boot 2k and XP are different
but what can I do to boot up into my XP?

Is it as simple as configuring the boot.ini file? I am
pretty familar with the 2k boot configuration but xp
doesnt seem to have a boot.ini file, what do i need to do
to configure my boot files so I can boot into either OS?
