XP with SP2 and power saving mode

Hi,

I have Windows XP Pro installed, with SP2 and fully updated, on my home
laptop. I am having problem making it go to sleep and hibernate in power
saving mode.

If I am logged in, it never goes to sleep nor hibernates. I have tried
to fiddle with power setting but no avail. Any suggestion where I could
be going wrong?
