xp will not boot

my hp is running xp. for a while it would boot up then
restart the boot again. now i see a message when booting
that there is a problem with win32.sys. as of now the
system will not boot into windows at all, in any mode
safe mode etc. the system freezes up before getting into
windows. xp came preinstalled on the computer. any ideas
will bet appreciated.
