XP will not boot after install Sony CRX220E1 CDRW

After i install the cdrw the XP install it and it work
well and i can reboot the computer but when i shutdown
the computer will not boot until i will unplug the cdrw.

Is it the only CD-ROM installed in the computer? I have
run into issues with HDD's and CD-ROM's of different
manufacturers being in the same IDE chain Not wanting to
work correctly. You might try seperating them, e.g. put
one on IDE0 and one on IDE1.
