XP very slow logging onto domain

I have a home network that I am using as a lab. I reinstalled XP Pro SP2 on
a Gateway Solo 1450 and joined the domain. When log onto the domain, it
takes almost nine minutes to log on. Sits forever at the Appling your
personal settings.

Is this something at the laptop level or the domain controller?

Are you using a roaming profile? If so haow large is it ?
