XP upgrade from 98 SE

It worked fine for a couple of days after Installation.
But now It starts up but won't let me access any user
accounts, it starts to load info then locks up. I can
access safe mode menu but from there it won't load XP. I
tried many of the troubleshooting technics prior to it
getting this bad but nothing worked, also I cant access my
installation disk to try the repair feature because it
doesn,t load enough of the o/s system to access the cd
drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
