XP Updates

Hi,

Since the 'launch' of the Sasser Worm I have been receiving messages from
Windows Update telling me that new updates are available for download every
2 days or so. To be safe of course I install them all but is it really
necessary for MS to update windows every 2 days or am I just installing the
same same updates each time?

Hi Martin,

Are these alerts coming via email or the updates pop-up notice in the
notification area? If the former, avoid them completely and delete.

i have been getting mock updates via yahoo mail. if you look at where the file is being downloaded from if there is nothing to do with microsoft or windows i wouldnt touch it. my yahoo scans it and picked up a worm, the only one i would trust is the windows updates from the http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
