XP Updates and Blaster Worm....

Hi,

I just removed the blaster worm and several variants from a Lady's XP Home machine, because of the RPC issue and her computer shutting down every 30 seconds or so. I knew what had happened. I also had to reinstall XP because the infection had festered. There had never been a critical update downloaded and installed nor was it using the ICF. After a cleaning the machine and a new install, everything is running just fine, including the ICF. I also went to Updates and downloaded 39 criticals and since she was on dialup, could not get SP1 or 1a. I have ordered 1a from MS and it's on it's way. My question now is, can the Service Pack be installed with all those other criticals already installed. I read somewhere (afterwards) that the SP should be first, and then go for other criticals. So do I now need to uninstall and reinstall Windows XP before doing the SP or can I go ahead. Thanks!

It is not necessary to install SP1 first.
If SP1 is installed, several other updates are not required since they
are incorporated in SP1, this is most likely what was meant.

Simply install SP1 when it arrives, this link may also help:
