Random Shutdown, not blaster worm

I have been having issues with my computer shutting down (complete power cut) after about 5 minutes whenever I play a game. I have had the blaster worm in the past, and I know that it could cause a problem like this, but since this happened I have installed all the latest patches and run the removal tools, and it still happens. I have read a few other posts that describe this problem, one of which includes reply's from multiple people that say they all have Athlon processors, which I have, although I'm not sure that it has anything to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be a heat related problem...intensive use of the
processor during game play causes it to heat up and shutdown as a self
defense mechanism.

Same problem here...I've had 'expert' advice saying that it's either
overheating or faulty/understrength power supply, so new fan or new power
supply.

have to agree either heat or power supply problem.

Download a stress testing program and you should have your answer pretty
easy. One thing too the age old question

I`d recommend using Prime95 to test the System for stability. Get it from
http://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v238.exe .
