XP update gone mad

This is very strange. Suddenly windows XP update says I need to
install Office XP SP3 although it is already installed.

I tried re-installing it from a copy I have on CD but get a message
saying it can't because 1f195e.msp is missing from the
windows/intaller folder. I have searched my hard disk and it is not
anywhere.

How can I overcome this problem?

You might want to post to the Office Update newsgroup.
microsoft.public.officeupdate. For reference here is a list of MS Public
newsgroups. http://www.aumha.org/nntp.htm
 
Have you let it reinstall it as it wants to.....Forget the cd,just let it
reinstall...Also,for office,run the GDI detection tool,#873374
