in two columns .

Use the mouse - click & HOLD on the edge of the Taskbar, and drag it about
anywhere (side) of your desktop that you want it to be.
In your case, click & HOLD on the edge of the Taskbar, and drag it
downward, carefully, until it's only ONE column in width....
