XP Taskbar IE6 Anomaly?

R

Ron Reaugh

Using XP Pro with all the latest WinUP fixes etc.(no SP2 yet) I like to keep
10-12 IE6 windows open. I don't set the combine mode so the icons line up
in the taskbar.
After awhile(day) frequently I find that clicking an icon in the taskbar
does NOT open(cause to come to foreground) the IE6 window that is associated
with that taskbar icon. One of the other IE6s pops forward.

Does anyone know what that is and how to fix it?

Don't have so many windows open. Defrag your HD. Increase your ram.

The PC has plenty of RAM and the HD is not fragmented. The major advanatge
of a multitasking OS is the ability to have multiple windows open.

Would someone who actually knows something please respond.

If you have 10-12 IE windows open how the hell do you know what you
are clicking on anyway.

What the **** does that have to do with you, you stupid ****? Who are you to
lay down rulas and regulations on what people do with their machines?
And if this happens a lot then maybe you need
to reboot your pc.

Most people already laughed at your other suggestions. Why are you
continuing to make a total laughingstock out of yourself? Since when has
rebooting been an acceptable fix for resolving continuing problems that
should not occur anyway, you snot-guzzling, mistaken, amnesiac bugbane? Hmmm?
Since you want to be a smartass about this go ****
yourself.

It's not his fault that you're a ****wit, is it? It's your grandparents'
fault for also being your mother and father, and brother and sister, eh.

Attitude check there, Ron...

How would anyone know how much RAM you've got or whether your HD is
fragmented or not without asking since you didn't mention any of that in
the OP? Those suggestions are not off base.

IE is a memory hog. I'm surprised you can get away with 10-12 instances
open for as long as you do without problems. I regularly have similar
troubles with IE with only 3 or 4 IE windows active and a couple of
other apps running. That's why I like to use browsers that support
tabbed browsing.

Have you checked for spyware/adware or viruses/worms/trojans?
