Hi,

My PC shutdown in the middle of system restore. When I
tried to turn it on again, my XP won't boot up. I received
the below message during startup:

"Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\SYSTEM"

The problem is I don't have my XP recovery disk / setup CD-
rom. How can I restore my windows XP? Your help will be
appreciated.

Thanks.
Nathan

You will need an XP original disk or your recovery to get
it to work, sorry for the bad options but Microsoft has
made it so you cannot install the OS or reconfigure the
OS without the original disk to stop the forging of
licensing. Good luck!

You are a bit stuffed. Return the PC to the retailer or manufacturer
to get it fixed OR Ask the manufacturer to supply a restore CD or XP
CD OR Buy a Copy of Windows XP so that you can fix it.
