I only have one account on XP. How do I get it to go straight to logging on
to the one account instead of stopping at the welcome screen? It used to
boot straight up before my mobo crashed and I had to reinstall Windows

Thanks

Hi,

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Tip:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Hi

Why did this just start after reinstalling XP Pro? My laptop that runs XP
Home and I don't have to pick account at startup. The pro machine has a
third user on it called ASP.NET. The other accounts are Admin. and Guest and
are common to both machines. If I delete the ASP account will I be able to
do what I'm talking about? I remember when I first received the Pro machine
, I deleted the ASP account by accident and I don't remember losing anything
and I don't remember having to click on a user to start XP. When I boot the
Pro machine I just get one user with no guest or ASP.NET account, can you
explain this?

Thank You
PSpinner

Hi
Just for the hell of it I deleted ASP user and that fixed the problem I was
having.
