I keep getting an error message when I boot up the computer. It says"invalid

Right click My Computer, select Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery,
Settings, Edit. Copy and paste the contents of your BOOT.INI file in a
reply.

Additional information needed. One hard disk in your system or multiple?
Single or multiple partitions?

I did as you suggested. Boot file is empty. There is nothing in the box.
The Boot.ini file tab was missing in msconfig. I created a new one, but it
is also blank. When I get the start-up screen, if I go to "Boot", the Quiet
Boot is enabled, but the Quick boot is disabled. Anything to be done here?

Answers to your other questions: One hard disk, don't know the answer to
the partions part. This is a Dell Dimension, year 2000, windows XP Home
Edition. Any help is greatly appreciated!
