Just recently, every time I switch on the computer, the following message
appears: - "Application failed to initalize 0x8000106ba. A problem caused
Window Defender Service to stop. To start the service, re-start your computer
or search Help and Support on how to start a sevice manually".

I have tried all i know. Please tell me how to remove this message.

Are you running Windows 2000?

Have you tried uninstalling Defender? ...and download / install the
latest one?

Did you install Windows Live OneCare?

The error message means your are still using the Beta version of Windows Defender.
The Beta copy is no longer a valid copy.
Go to the Microsoft site and download the final released copy.

Uninstall the old version and download the new one from the link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Also do you have Anti-virus Installed, turn the AV OFF when you do the
installation.

Here a lot of scenarios like yours and answers and you can post there if
your issue not been resolved:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&p=1&tid=7645666d-d867-4354-8ad6-6c73c403957f

If all fail try to run the Run command: sfc /scannow and let it run.
Do you get an Error Message, try to look in the event viewer for any error
messages (X) reported in the Error log.
HTH.
Regards,
nass
