Lately when I put my computer in Standby it hasn't been workin right. What
it used to do, when it was working, was it would save my settings then goto
into standby. When I turned on the computer again, it would goto the Welcome
screen, then I would click on my icon and then my desktop would load.

Now....When I put it in standby, it just goes black and shutdowns really
fast without saving my settings. Then when I turn the computer back on it
goes to the welcome screen but it won't let me click on my icon (and the icon
is smaller), so I end up having to shutdown the computer and restart.

I have the current BIOS and drivers for my computer. Please help.

Thanks

You don't mean standby, you mean hibernation - learn the difference.

In standby the computer enters a low power state (it's still on but,
theoretically, using less energy)

When a computer enters hibernation, it saves the contents of the RAM to a
file called hiberfil.sys and then switches the system off. When powered back
on your system is exactly as you left it.

As you are talking about "switching the system back on" it leads me to
believe you are meaning hibernation, not standby.

No, I mean Standby! I click on Turn off Computer, then I click the yellow
icon that says.......Standby. Also, Roger answered my question with his
link. I don't know if you just like to be heard, but don't respond to people
posts if you aren't going to help.

The trendline shows that "help" is never the object, except when directed at
a flagging ego.
