xp stability under intel 2.8 ht processer

I have a problem with windows stability with intel
processer it classified by when I turn on the hyper
threading from bios sometimes the the xp halted and
restart again the other problem is I cann't connect
through the modem when this option is turned on (ht)

The first thing I would check is to see if there os a BIOS update for your
motherboard.

Hyperthreading is supported by Windows XP. If you haven't applied SP1 or
SP1a for Windows XP, you might consider it since there are improvements in
it for HT machines. (and looking at issues in this group, more or coming in
SP2 in regards to vpn and video when HT is on.)

Outside of that, you might want to check with the manufacturer of you modem
and see if they have updated drivers. You also might want to check their
support page to see if there are any known issues with the drivers and
hyperthreading.
