XP SP3 RC1

I have installed XP SP3 RC1 once installation was completed I rebooted as
prompted but the system no longer boots into windows, it instead 'loops' on
the logo/progress bar screen.

Has anyone else experienced this? I would prefer to find a way to remove the
service pack or make it work before I resort to rebuilding the system from
backups.

It sounds like you got a bad download. I suggest you download the
installer again, then try it once more.

Hi Gareth,

I have installed it several times, working with Acronis Partition Images
and it installed fine. I would suggest you restore a partition image and
redownload Service Pack 3.

Or, try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can use Add or Remove
Programs to remove Service Pack 3 in Safe Mode.
