XP SP2 will not detect built in 1394 bus controller

I have a custom built Intel mobo D915PBL with built in 1394 controller, P4
3.0 ghz, XP OEM SP2, Premiere Pro. Maxtor HD, XFX Nvidia GeForce 6600GT, and
1GB matched memory. The box is dedicated only for video editing.

In my original install, the following are present:
Network Connections - 1394 connections
Device Manager - OHCI 1394 compliant 1394 bus controller
Registry - local_machine>system>currentControlSet>Enum>1394

I have a Canopus ADVC-50 card and Panansonic PV-GS250 DV camera. They were
detected and I was able to capture analog and digital video.

THEN I installed KB885222. After my reboot, my trouble started.
All my 1394 disappeared.

I did a complete reinstall: format my Maxtor HD, reinstall XP Pro SP2 (no
updates), reinstall all Intel Chiptset Utilities that came with the
motherboard.

So far my reinstall has not detected my 1394 bus controller. BTW Intel uses
Agere controller. Check my BIOS, 1394 is ENABLED.

Could it be 1394 hardware or XP Pro SP2?

Thanks for any suggestions/help.

Install the motherboard chipset drivers. This may help by providing the
"missing" IRQ (or ???) drivers.

Thanks Yves.

I did reinstall the motherboard chiptset drivers that come with the board. I
also updated the BIOS and updated chipset drivers from Intel website.
