XP SP2 - Runtime Error - HELP!

S

Stephen

Hi

Every time I try to search Explorer with "Start/Search"
I get a Runtime Error (there is no error number)
but it's a C++ error.

I have checked at MS - and via msconfig - disabled
all start up options.

But this hasn't helped.

I've run;

Spybot
Ad -Aware
Windows Defender
Norton WinDoc
Avast

I also have Spyware Blaster running.

The problem remains.

The problem seemed to start after I ran
downloaded CCleaner.

It suggested that I remove 250mb - which I did.

This removed my broadband wireless adaptor
and other problems have arisen.

I've looked on Google - but no one seems to give
a definite answer to this very annoying problem.

Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.

Thank you in advance - regards, Stephen

You might try sfc/scannow from the command prompt.

You might also try a repair installation (not certain that this will fix
Explorer).

CCcleaner may have done something to Explorer. It messed up some other
programs so why not Explorer as well?

Of course, you could just wipe everything clean and reinstall XP.
