As the topic says - installing SP2 leads to ol' Bluescreen showing up. This
happens after entering my password for login, and I hear the Windows startup
theme, but I get bluescreen before desktop is displayed. With SP1, the
computer boots up fine.

I get the following message:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8061E5AD, 0xA91B9B38, 0x00000000).

I got this bluescreen ever since I tried to install SP2 on my fresh install
of XP on my new system - and trying to install it today sadly yielded the
same results. My previous computer, now 5 years old, didn't suffer this
problem.

My system setup:
AMD AM2 4200+ dual-core CPU
Asus M2N SLI-Deluxe motherboard
XFX Geforce 7900 GT
2 GB PC6400 DDR2 matched memory sticks
500W PSU complete with Nexus cabinet

Any hints as to what could be wrong? Or should I just wait for Vista?
