since i have updating my computers with xp sp2 a couple of them have
developed a problem. When i shut them down they go to the 'windows is
shutting down' screen, and thats where they stay. they don't turn off, and
you have to do it by pressing the power button for several seconds. One is a
toshiba laptop which is about 4 years old ( tecra 8100 pentium 3 600mhz) and
the other is a desktop with a new motherboard and a pentium 4 1.7ghz
processor. both were running fine on sp1.
no idea why..... anyone out there know?
also the older one now thinks it has a p3 300mhz! but when i unistalled the
new driver (xp sp2 installed it) its went back to the correct speed!
