Ever since installing SP2 a week ago I now experience at least 2-3 system
crashes a day. I have programs that no longer run and my computer
occasionally just shuts off without restarting, only pressing the reset
button will reinitialize the computer for restart.
This is the second worst program Microsoft has issued, the first being
windows ME.
Are there currently any class action lawsuites against microsoft for
computer downtime or lost time trying to fix what they did with their SP2 ?
Will we ever see a fix for the fix ? When will microsoft be responsible for
the millions of lost man hours that it causes all its customers ? Sorry if Im
venting but Bill's really upsetting a lot of people her. Get with the program
Bill and don't release another program until you've had someone with at least
a High School diploma check it out first or at least let people know when
their downloading Beta programs for your Beta testing.

Did you run scans for the bad stuff first such as;
worms, viruses, trojans, and spyware, and then remove any
that are found prior to SP2 install ? If not, then do it
now, and then try the system file checker tool, click
your start, run, and type in; sfc /scannow with the
space. Also run the disk cleanup and defrag tools too.

Did you go through any type of pre SP2 check list? or did
you just hit install? The key to a problem free SP2
install is to be prepared. Microsoft has no way of testing
its updates against a PC full of crap and a error infested
drive. Did u do a scan for malware? did you do a scandisk?
or maybe defrag? did you do anything at all? Did you do
any research?

Anonymous (and might as well include "miss tick") cause we all know she'll be
here calling the end user "a moron of the highest degree" (that's her catch
phrase).

When one has windows auto updates turned on, all we receive is a msg stating
"updates available, do you wish to install?" There was no warning that this
was any major upgrade which needed all the prep work you describe. We get
windows updates on a regular basis, assuming we knew this one was different
was a wrong assumption!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Whenever I go to the update site, I always use custom. I
sometimes see the message updates available, but I also
usually see sometype of description of a sort, like name
of the update.
