XP SP2 Boot Hangs For Several Minutes

Hi there, all. I posted this message yesterday and have recently realized
that my problem may not stem from what I originally thought, so I'm
re-posting and asking in a diferent manner. When I boot my XP SP2, I am able
to type in my password, and the desktop, taskbar, etc. all appear like they
normally should. However, several seconds later the taskbar hangs, and if I
move my mouse down below the taskbar (for example, if I try to hit the start
button or use any of the tray/quick launch buttons), I just get an hourglass
and am unable to do anything. I can, however, use any icons on the desktop
fine, but anything below the taskbar seems to hang.

After about three minutes, there is a huge amount of hard drive activity and
things work perfectly fine (including the task bar). I've checked the log
and the only thing I can attribute this problem to is a BTHUSB error, but
I've tried removing the driver from the system32\drivers directory and the
problem still occurs, so I don't think it's a driver problem. Any help would
be greatly appreciated as this error is causing me a great deal of distress.
Thank you all very much in advance.

Thanks for the reply. It's refreshing to know I'm not the only one who is
having this problem, but sadly there seems to be no fix. I checked into the
second link you gave me, though my Bluetooth adapter is built into the Vaio
laptop I have, and hence the adapter is already using the Windows Bluetooth
Stack, and not any 3rd party drivers. Again, thank you for the reply! This
problem is becoming a huge nuisance, however...
