i can't install windows xp, have tried two copies and the same. I boott from
the disk and wait for the drivers and setup files to install then during the
dos mode part of setup, it says at the bottom of the screen, "windows is
starting your computer" or words to that effect, then a blue screen of death
appears saying that windows has shut down to protect your computer comes up
with a load of possible causes, all have been checked and are ok, under the
heading it gives me the following code but i've been unable the track it down
in knowledge base:
STOP: 0X0000007C(0XC0000005,0X80818410,0XF7CDEC5C,0XF7CDE95C)
i've tried to email microsoft but they require a product i.d., and
apparently i can get this from within windows???? ok if i could install it!!
Can anybody help please.

Repartition and format the drive.. if the problem persists, run a HDD
diagnostic utility available from the HDD manufacturer website..

Might be related to the network card. Please post the rest of the STOP
message if you need more help. This part is useless on it's own.

I don't mean the list of "possible causes". I mean the STOP message word
for word.
